I undertook this project during my time at Niaz Workshop, focusing on designing large wooden entry doors and metal windows. The designs were inspired by Islamic geometric patterns and executed using the traditional Gereh-Chini technique. The wooden doors included over 13,000 pieces, which were CNC-cut for precision and then carefully assembled by hand. This project combined traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing techniques to create functional and visually striking architectural elements.
For the metal windows, we incorporated colorful plexiglass instead of traditional stained glass due to the high cost of sourcing colored glass. The plexiglass pieces were precisely cut using CNC, ensuring accuracy and ease of assembly. The metal frames were constructed using welding techniques to create strong and durable structures, seamlessly integrating the plexiglass pieces.
